Upgrading Critical Mechanical Systems for a Pool Facility Renovation
As part of a comprehensive pool facility renovation and HVAC upgrade, Pleune Service Company provided the mechanical expertise needed to modernize essential building systems serving the pool area. From demolition and infrastructure modifications to the installation of specialized HVAC and plumbing equipment, our work focused on creating an environment that supports proper air quality, humidity control, and long-term facility performance.
Indoor pool environments present unique challenges. Excess moisture, ventilation demands, and aging infrastructure can negatively impact occupant comfort and building health if not properly addressed. This project required a coordinated approach to ensure all systems worked together to support the renovated space.
Understanding the Scope
The first phase of the project involved the removal of existing ductwork and plumbing systems associated with the pool area. Demolition work created the foundation for updated mechanical infrastructure while allowing the facility to move forward with broader renovation efforts.
Much of the work took place within tunnel spaces below the facility. These areas provided access to critical utility pathways but required careful planning and coordination to safely perform plumbing and HVAC modifications.
In addition to infrastructure updates, Pleune installed a new bathroom group, including the plumbing systems necessary to support the renovated area.
Improving Air Quality and Environmental Control
Maintaining proper indoor environmental conditions is one of the most important requirements in any natatorium or pool facility. To support these goals, Pleune installed a new VUV system designed to assist with water and air quality management.
Our team also installed new ductwork to improve airflow distribution throughout the space. Proper ventilation helps maintain occupant comfort while supporting the performance of other mechanical systems within the facility.
A significant component of the project was the installation of a new dehumidification unit. Indoor pools generate large amounts of moisture, making humidity control essential. Effective dehumidification helps reduce condensation, protect building materials from moisture-related damage, improve indoor air quality, and create a more comfortable environment for occupants.
