Pleune Service Company completed a multi-phase project to support the installation of two new presses. The team piped two indoor fluid chillers and installed fresh air and exhaust systems to keep the equipment running safely and efficiently.
The work started by piping each chiller to its matching press using 1¼” black pipe. The team installed circuit setters, temperature and pressure gauges, and tees and valves to support emergency connections and future service. They added valves, vents, drains, and a backflow prevention kit to complete the system. From there, they routed all four piping runs to the electrical cabinets and continued on to the hydraulic coolers serving each press. After finishing the piping, the crew pressure tested the system, then filled and vented it with glycol. Because of the long pipe runs, Pleune added external pumps to each chiller to deliver the flow required for proper press operation.
Ventilation played a major role since the chillers are located indoors. Pleune installed fresh air louvers to supply make‑up air to the equipment room and added sidewall louvers with actuated dampers. The team installed two high‑capacity exhaust systems to remove heat from the chiller condenser fans. They mounted inline fans above each condenser fan motor per manufacturer recommendations and combined ductwork where appropriate before terminating through the sidewall. Each chiller operates with its own dedicated exhaust path and backflow dampers to prevent cold air from entering the space. The team sealed all exterior penetrations to protect against the weather.
The final phase focused on controls and electrical coordination. Once line voltage reached the variable frequency drives (VFDs), Pleune mounted the control boxes and VFDs on the wall. The team pulled low‑voltage wiring to the chiller controls and outdoor air dampers and completed all terminations. They programmed the system so the outdoor air dampers open on a call for cooling, followed by the exhaust fans starting. The crew labeled all panels and exhaust fan disconnects and created a complete control schematic for future reference.
Through detailed installation, careful coordination, and clear documentation, Pleune Service Company delivered a complete chiller piping and ventilation solution that supports reliable press operation and long‑term serviceability.
