Employee Owned and Dedicated to Excellence

Would you like to speak to the Owner?

Just pick up the phone and give us a call. The person on the other end is a Pleune Service Company Owner; whether it is someone in the office, a service technician, a plumber, pipefitter or HVAC sheet metal worker.  In fact, every employee at Pleune Service Company is an Owner.

In 1988 thirty percent (30%) of Pleune Company stock was sold to the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).  In 2002 the remainder of the company stock was sold to the ESOP making Pleune Service Company 100% Employee Owned.  And, because of this fact, we perform our jobs like our future depends on it, because it does.  So in turn this also benefits our customers, because we take pride and ownership in what we do for them, every day.

As Employee Owners we believe that our customers are our life blood; without them we would not be a successful company. We treat our customers with integrity, respect and provide them with quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. Because of our ownership culture we work together as a team, encourage one another to succeed and we hold ourselves accountable, we will not settle for second rate.

As a Mechanical Contractor and Service Provider we know that you have many companies to choose from. We believe that being a 100% Employee Owned Company sets us apart from the rest, because when you choose Pleune Service Company, everyone you come into contact with is an Owner and has a personal stake in your satisfaction.

ESOP Co-Trustee's

An Employee Stock Ownership Plan allows the employees of Pleune to receive stock shares in the company. Making all employees part owner creates better morale and hard working employees with a vested interest in Pleune's success. The ESOP is a financial vehicle with co-trustees, Jill Malone and Jennifer Murphy each appointed by the Board of Director's for Pleune Service Company. This position is entrusted with the responsibilities to oversee the management and distribution of funds and assets.

ESOP Events

On August 25th 2010 Pleune Service Company was proud to host a visit with Congressman Vern Ehlers, several Pleune employees as well as representatives from several other ESOP companies in Congressman Ehlers’ district. This was designed to be an opportunity for everyone to get together and discuss how ESOP companies benefit not only the employees of ESOP companies but also how legislation can affect those companies.

Several Pleune Service company employees from different departments came in and talked about what it means to them to work for an employee owned company and how that affects the way they approach their jobs every day. Then guests from other ESOP companies were also invited to speak about how being an employee owned company affects their businesses and employees.

Mr. Ehlers was kind enough to take some time and speak about how he has been a champion for pro ESOP legislation in Congress. He said that Employee Owned Companies give the average person a chance to share in the company profits through company stock. He then took the time to do a question and answer session with those in attendance as well as take photos with those who were interested. This meeting was informative for both the employees and guests in attendance and also gave Congressman Ehlers a chance to meet with those who his legislation has directly affected.

Our ESOP Communications Committee planned a bowling night out for their fellow employee owners in March of 2011. The Committee was able to provide the bowling, shoe rental, pizza and pop for free to those who participated! A great time was had by all who attended.

In March the ESOP Communications Committee held a “Guess the Stock Price” contest for the employee owners. The person to guess closest to the new stock price won a $25 gift card.  The winner was announced on 3/17/11 and is Michele Perrin! Michele has worked for Pleune Service Company in the Estimating Department since 2000. Congratulations Michele!!

On June 18th 2011 Pleune Service Company organized a company picnic at Fifth Third Ball Park. Thank you everyone for contributing to the enjoyable day. This year the weather cooperated and gave us an 83° beautiful, sunny day. We had the Miller Lite deck reserved with hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, potato salad, cole slaw and beverages.

The ESOP committee organized two guessing games at the entrance, one for children and one for adults. The children’s game was to guess the number of gumballs in a container. The adults had the same idea, except with nuts, bolts, and washers.

The winner of the children’s game was Jacob Lubbers with his guess of 240 gumballs….he was very excited about winning a jar of 240 gumballs.

Winners of the adult game were as follows:

Char Terpsma- 1st place, won the $25 Meijer gift card

Ryan Fischer- 2nd place, won the $25 Outback gift card

Dan Buckley- 3rd place, won the $25 Home Depot gift card

Leslie Heiser- 4th place, won the $25 Visa gift card

Just to top it all off, the Whitecaps win. West Michigan (32-36) heads into the final day of the first half with a chance to sweep the three-game series against a reeling Lake County (27-41) club that has lost 10 games in a row and 12 of their last 13. The West Michigan Whitecaps used a bizarre two-run triple to overcome an early deficit at Fifth Third Ballpark, holding on for a 6-5 victory over the Lake County Captains to win for the 11th time in their last 14 games.

This truly was a great day....great people, weather, food, and game. Thanks for everyone’s contributions!!!
